    Timeless

But this is overhyped album, actually :) it is just good, decent one from competent band, nothing ground breaking.

How can a masterpiece that is universally admired stand against entropy, attack and amnesia? By being timeless and transcendent. This is both.

  • 12 Bobs Aug 16, 2016

This album stayed in the Billboard Chats for 741 weeks and sold around 45 million copies. So it just goes to show that it is a true masterpiece. I was raised on music like this.
    I LOVE THIS ALBUM

anonymous May 24, 2013 Posted a Hate Review purely to get a reaction. And here it is: You're delusional.
This album is beautifully written and wonderfully executed.
If you don't like Floyd, don't bother. I hate hip hop, so I don't bother writing reviews for that genre.

"On the Run" has Alan Parson written all over it.

This kind of ART is something that seems completely lost nowaday. You have to imagine this music created and performed without computers, but just using the most modern instruments available at the time. There is a docufilm where Alan Parson explains this pretty well. Anyway this is a must. Then, now and forever.

Over-hyped and indicative of the times, if you don't have any LSD, don't bother with Pink Floyd. "The Wall" is even worse.

The stars were aligned just right when this album was recorded. The first of the "Holy Trinity" of Floyd albums, TDSOTM is ranked as one of the greatest albums of all times. Just press play and feel the music. My father had this album in quadrophonic LP and it was my first experience with the band in 1973. I was hooked the first time I heard it at the tender age of 8 !
