From funk to Tango and everything in between. Mat mixes originals with a few covers but always keeps it interesting. His band sticks to him like glue emphasising the solos when needed. Vocals are strong and guitar sound and playing are amazing.
He never overplays. So if you want a million notes and no soul or connection to the music don't buy. There are many other guitarists out there who constantly overplay so don't expect this. This not to say Mat can't rip it up with the best. I do sometimes draw parallels sometimes with Roben Ford but Mat has his own voice.
