Forgetting William Shatner's voice for a moment some of the music on this album is great. Particularly Ritchie Blackmore on Space Oddity. It is worth buying for that song alone. some of the tracks work ok with bill speaking the words others sound a bit cringe-worthy. overall its not that bad.
I would agree with the previous reviewer if "The Shat" did this as a serious attempt to be a recording artist like David Hasselhoff. However, Shat's albums are categorized as musical comedy. I think that Mp3VA.com should create a new category for this album--musical sarcasm. I would have rated the album higher, but Shatner's cadence in some songs are not sufficiently sarcastic.
My favorites are Space Oddity, Space Truckin', Spirit in the Sky, and Space Cowboy. They are an eleven on the sacrcasm-O-meter, which only goes up to ten.
I'm a Shatner fan, but if anyone knows his agent, tell him to STOP MAKING SPOKEN ROCK RECORDS. That's so 1965... c'mon Bill.... play to your genius and not to the $.
