The Armoury Show? Guitarist and drummer from Magazine, Bassist from the Skids.

And Richard Jobson!! Mr. Pretentious/moody/unintelligible on vocals.

One of the overlooked bands from the '80's, they should've been massive in the way that U2 are massive. Maybe Jobson irritated too many journos by being too smart for them?

Anyway, if you want to hear a band actually sound like they're having fun on stage, here's your chance. Recorded in Germany weeks after the release of their only album, there are a couple of mistakes in the set and Jobson actually laughs and jokes at one stage!

The musicianship is top notch, the recording (I think it was for a local radio broadcast) is clear and of good quality, and there are a couple of non-album tracks.

The reformed Skids play a few Armoury Show songs live, but this is your only chance to hear the real thing. Enjoy.
