Please note this is an addendum to my previous review w/corrections (my EPS show 2 of these songs with different names): One of those bands that made San Antonio, Texas proud in the early to mid eighties. The band released 2 EPs in 1983 and 1985 originally that have been re-released many times since with a bonus track. The most prominent members of the band were John Grell on guitar and Ric Swanson on vocals. Also in the band were 3 ex-members of legendary local band Heyoka. The band was influenced by bands like Triumph and were labeled as Pomp Rock, within the Hard Rock genre. This album is both of the EPs together with the bonus tracks. This is a steal if you try to find Winterkat (1983) or the Struggle (1985). Excellent musicians that opened for bands around the South Texas area, including Budgie. Definitely some hot Album Oriented Rock here. Best tracks are the Dreamer, Winterkat, Let the Music Take You, Scared Heart, and Someone's Calling. There is also an excellent cover of Hendrix's Little Wing. If you like obscure: BINGO! If you like unknown killer songs: BINGO! Grew up in SA and remember hearing these guys on KMAC/KISS and live. If you enjoy classic rock with great guitar riffs, then give Winterkat a try. There are also some sweet acoustic intros. Listen to the samples...you'll enjoy this!
