The Misfits originally released most of these tracks on EPs from 1977 to 1983 or so, and this could be their most consistent and powerful single compilation to date. The band specializes in stinging hardcore softened by hook-laden power-chord punk. The songs mostly delve into sci-fi and horror themes - like an aural treatment of halloween.

The early Cramps did this kind of thing better than anyone, but songs like "She" and "Astro Zombies" would do the Ramones proud. If you're a completist, you'll probably want the box set; however, the selection of music is so strong that it's hard to resist buying.
