If you're a fan of the retro 70's fuzz/"stoner rock" of the mid 1990's, this is one of the best. Although released in 2001, previously signed to the quickly defunct Man's Ruin record label, Solarized and several other bands in the scene were left without proper distribution (this is pre-mp3 days, kiddies) making them difficult to find at the time. Queens of the Stone age (formerly known as Kyuss), The Hellacopters and Fu Manchu were the most successful out of the scene, but this album and the self-titled Solarized on Man's Ruin belong in the history IMO. The songs aren't overly clever or complex, it's all about the thunderous bass guitars and fuzz distortion on the lead guitars, lyrics secondary. To be enjoyed at maximum volume whenever possible.
