I'm sorry. I know he's widely regarded and respected musically, but this sounded like Muzak to me. Not bad, just forgettable.
Sometimes - and I am more than just an ardent Beatles Fan - Those who do Beatles covers - fall very short of the mark. I am very pleased to say - Ramsey Lewis' covers do not fall in to that category. These covers of the Beatles songs are all excellent and I will play them many times over The very first cover version of Beatles Songs I ever bought was Mother Nature's Son by Ramsey Lewis and it blew mind - especially Everybody's got something to his 'cept me and my monkey. This is a brilliant collection - highly recommended. Richard
