I have been an Avril fan since I first heard Complicated on the radio and spent 3 days trying to figure out who sung it.

That being said, this album is like an updated flashback to her first couple of albums. 2000s pop-punk nostalgia incarnated. I do like the songs on the record, but I keep getting hit with the disingenuous and forced feeling, like she's a 37 year old trying hard to be who she was when she was 16. I get it, reaching for inspiration from her height of fame. But it just feels like she's trying too hard, like her heart and soul isn't in the music.

But, if you were a fan of her first couple albums, you're going to like this one.

This album is excellent 2000s pop/punk (Avril Lavigne) nostalgia. If you're into that kind of thing, you'll love this album.
